MFDS – PART 1
MFDS – Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery
The MFDS consists of Part 1 and Part 2 exams. Candidates will normally be allowed a maximum of five years in which to complete all parts, but will need to pass Part 1 before progressing to Part 2.
Part 1 consists of 150 Single Best Answer (SBA) questions within a single three-hour paper.
What are the eligibility criteria for the exam?
To be eligible to enter the MFDS exam, all candidates must:
Possess a primary dental qualification acceptable to the boards of the dental faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Candidates must provide their Primary Dental Qualification via email.

MFDS 1 Exam Dates, fees, and venues
There are 4 Royal Collages, all of them provide membership exams (London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Ireland)
You can get the first part from any college of them, and then complete the second part from any other college as you wish
Usually, the exam is available in April and October. Further information can be found in the dates and fees document.
