MRCOG Part 1 – Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

Format of the MRCOG Part 1 exam, including the number of papers and question types:
Consists of 2 papers each lasting 2.5 hours for 100 MCQ questions, to assess the basic and applied sciences relevant to Obs & Gyn.
MRCOG is also highly regarded in many other places in the world including the Middle East, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

What are the eligibility criteria for the MRCOG Part 1 exam?

• Candidates are eligible to enter for the Part 1 exam when they have obtained their medical degree. However, candidates are advised to attempt the exam only after they have had some grounding in postgraduate obstetrics and gynecology.
• Graduates of a medical school recognized by the Royal College.
• No postgraduate training needed to be eligible to sit Part 1.
• To pass Candidates must achieve a set pass mark, which varies according to the difficulty of the exam.

MRCOG Part 1 Dates, fees, and venues

The exam is held two times a year (January and July) in the UK and in a number of overseas locations. Further information can be found in the dates and fees document.
