MRCEM Primary Examination
Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine

The MRCEM Primary examination is a theoretical exam mapped to Emergency Medicine.
All applicants for this exam are strongly advised to familiarise themselves with the Basic Sciences Curriculum in preparation for sitting the MRCEM Primary examination.

What are the eligibility criteria for the MRCEM primary exam?

Candidates must have obtained a medical degree from a university acceptable to the General Medical Council.
No previous experience in Emergency Medicine is required for the MRCEM Primary exam.

MRCEM Primary Dates, fees, and Venues

MRCEM Primary is available 2 times every year, in June, and November.

MRCEM (OSCE) – £450 / £650 India / £750 (Malaysia)
FRCEM SBA – £345
