The MRCPch Examination part 1 consists of:

• Foundation of Practice (FOP) theory examination (basic child health)
• Theory and Science (TAS) theory examination (basic scientific, physiological, and pharmacological principles upon which clinical practice is based).

What are the eligibility criteria for the MRCPch exam?

The theory examinations can be taken in the candidate’s order of preference. On successful completion of the 3 theory examinations (FOP, TAS, And AKP), candidates are eligible for entry to the MRCPCH Clinical Examination. Candidates will not be permitted to sit an examination unless they hold a recognized medical qualification. Further information can be found in the eligibility instructions.

Dates, fees, and venues

The exam is available in February, June, and October every Year. Further information can be found in the dates and fees document.
